Olson Makes The Short List For Coveted Strategic Excellence Awards

Olson has been named to the short list for the 2009 AAAAs (American Association of Advertising Agencies) Jay Chiat Awards for Strategic Excellence, in the "Campaign for a New Brand" category for client Nike Bauer. Only 46 entries were chosen for the list. Gold, silver and bronze winners, as well as the grand prix, will be announced in New York on September 22.

"Strategic thinking in marketing communications and delivering rich insights to clients is fundamental to our business, and the record number of entries in this year's awards-especially in this tough economy-illustrates the importance and relevance of planning today," says Nancy Hill, President-CEO, AAAAs.

"Olson is deeply honored to be included on the short list with this, our first-ever entry into the Jay Chiat awards," says Kevin DiLorenzo, president, Olson. "Our brand anthropology practice continues to receive accolades for smart, strategic work, and we've been lucky to have great clients like Nike Bauer provide us with these sorts of challenging opportunities."

Previously called the AAAAs Awards for Account Planning, the awards were renamed in 2004 in honor of advertising legend Jay Chiat, who is credited with introducing the discipline of planning to the United States. The awards are presented each year at the AAAAs Account Planning Conference in recognition of planners who have developed strong and innovative insights, and seen their work evolve through creative that affects both the consumer and the business.
