Agency Work Recognized for Strategic Excellence

Olson has won a bronze 2009 AAAA’s (American Association of Advertising Agencies) Jay Chiat Award for Strategic Excellence, in the “Campaign for a New Brand” category for client Nike Bauer. The award was announced at a ceremony during Advertising Week in New York on September 22.

“The winners of the 2009 Jay Chiat Awards represent the best strategic thinking around the world,” said Nancy Hill, president and CEO, 4A’s. “I’m pleased that planning, such an important industry discipline, was celebrated during Advertising Week, for the first time.”

“We are honored to have our world-class strategists recognized on this competitive international stage. Olson’s revolutionary approach, infusing anthropology into classic agency planning models, is connecting on ever-higher levels,” says Kevin DiLorenzo, president, Olson. “Winning the Jay Chiat Award underscores Olson’s commitment to smart, strategic, insightful creative and messaging, and allows us an opportunity to thank our client Nike Bauer for greenlighting award-winning work.”

Previously called the AAAA’s Awards for Account Planning, the awards were renamed in 2004 in honor of advertising legend Jay Chiat, who is credited with introducing the discipline of planning to the United States. The awards are presented each year at the AAAA’s Account Planning Conference in recognition of planners who have developed strong and innovative insights, and have seen their work evolve through creative that affects both the consumer and the business.
