OLSON Puts the O in Minneapolis St. Patrick’s Day Parade Again This Year
Minneapolis agency to lead 42nd annual Minneapolis parade March 17
OLSON will be going green as the sponsor of this year’s Minneapolis St. Patrick’s Day parade, Wed., March 17 at 6:30 p.m. along Nicollet Mall. The parade will travel down Nicollet Mall from 13th Street to 3rd Street.
On Monday, OLSON agency icon The Brickman (12 feet tall, 600 lbs.) was hoisted from his spot atop the agency roof by crane to prepare for his participation in the parade. For photos and video of his descent, visit www.facebook.com/olsonagency.
Last year the Minneapolis agency’s employees, their families, friends and clients led the parade with a 350-person-two-llama-one-Brickman strong contingent. This year expect an even bigger presence, complete with a band, stilt walker and convertible carrying its NOSLO* king and queen (a long-standing OLSON tradition).
“Sure and we’ll have the luck of the Irish this year, begor, as OLSON sponsors the Minneapolis St. Patrick’s Day parade,” says John Olson, CEO, OLSON. “Top o’ the morning to you, now, that’s no blarney.”
The Minneapolis St. Patrick’s Day parade, now in its 42nd year, has become one of the most celebrated parades in Minneapolis. Sean Clerkin, the founder of the St. Patrick’s Day Association of Minneapolis, announced on Monday OLSON as the lead sponsor, Hennepin County Commissioner Peter McLaughlin as the parade’s civic grand marshal, Sue McLean as the 2010 Irish American businesswoman and Annette Miller, winner of the 2010 Ms. Blarney contest.
