Time certainly flies when you’re having fun, and boy has it really flown for our very own Hans Engebretson. Ten years ago Hans started at Olson as a wide-eyed, bushy-tailed account intern. Back then Olson employed maybe 20 people, a stark difference from the 300-plus working here now. But through all the growth, Hans is still the kind of guy whose presence you know and feel in the room. Put aside his physical presence (towering over most of us at 6 feet 7 inches) it’s his personality that really draws you in. He makes everyone feel welcome. Moms want their daughters to date him, and guys never miss the chance for a few beers with him at the nearest karaoke bar. If Foursquare existed back when he broke into the biz, Hans would have been mayor of the office and, as he self-proclaims, "Mayor of Awesome Town."

Over the years, Hans truly embraced and embodied the work-hard, play-hard culture of Olson. He never complained if he had to stay late or come in early to get things done. He just did it. But he also led the charge to ensure those moments were never dull. Whether it’s getting on the PA system to announce an all-office page for a game of Lightning or pulling pranks on co-workers (even our leader-in-charge John O. was not exempt from Hans’ infamous pranks), Hans made sure we all loved working together.

So to you, Hans, we say thanks. Thank you for making Olson the agency that it is today. And thank you for making it the agency of the future.
